Bharat Gaurav Awards presented

ManamaSpiritual Guru Gurujee Kumaran Swami, who was in the Kingdom recently, distributed the annual Bharat Gaurav (Pride of India) awards to Indians as well as persons  of other countries who have made social contributions to the community.

Members of the Indian community in Bahrain joined the visiting expatriate Indians who were recipients of the awards at the Intercontinental Regency Hotel in Manama. The awardees included Dr Satya Prakash, President Proviva Pharma, Canada; Catious Pereira, President Indian Club; Bhagwan Asarpota former chairman of the Indian Community Relief Fund Bahrain; Abdul Sattar, CEO, President group; Renuka Pullat, Director Sram & Mram; Mohammed Manzor, Chairman, Exelon group; and Rajesh Srivastav, M. D Films Today, were awarded for their contributions to the society and industry.

Gurujee Kumaran Swami said he chose Bahrain as the venue for the award function this year as he was heartened by the Kingdom’s spirit of coexistence, peace and harmony.

“Bahrain is an attraction to the world, just for its diversity,” said the founder of the World Peace & Adhyatma Jyotish Trust.

He appreciated the Kingdom’s focus on humanity in these globally troubled times. “Humanity is our religion; we believe in love peace and harmony. People are different, but humanity is the same. We live differently but humanity is what unites us, “ he said while giving away the awards.  He added that his work in India included helping the elderly and feeding the poor. “Our aim is to feed every hungry person. We have extended this campaign to different parts of the world,” he said. He also stressed that in a fast-moving world, people are losing respect for the elderly and expressed his intent for a global plan to support the old. “Even the elderly deserve to enjoy every bit of life,” he said.  Indian celebrities including Sarah Khan, Priyal Gore, Krati Agarwal, Yamini, Sanatan Ahuja, Simran and Anirudh Dave also joined the event.
