Justice a fundamental pillar for development: Deputy King

Manama : Justice is a fundamental pillar for the development of countries, alongside security and the economy, the Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said yesterday.

He made the statement while meeting Abdulla bin Hassan Al Buainian, President of the Court of Cassation and Deputy President of the Supreme Judicial Council, at Riffa Palace.

The Deputy King affirmed that the Kingdom’s development led by His Majesty King Hamad has strengthened the judiciary and its role in consolidating the rule of law in society. His Royal Highness highlighted that justice is a fundamental pillar for the development of countries, alongside security and the economy. His Royal Highness also praised the standards of the Bahraini judiciary, who are recognised for their integrity and independence.

The Deputy King welcomed the efforts of the Supreme Judicial Council for implementing programmes and strategies aimed at raising the efficiency and performance of the Bahraini judiciary. 

He stressed the importance of continuing to pay attention to the development of national cadres working in the judiciary and enabling them to perform their mission to the highest standards.

Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy King for his interest in the national cadres working in the judiciary and his emphasis on the important role played by the Supreme Judicial Council.

Shaikh Khaled bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, also attended the meeting.
