‘Strongest Bahraini Man’ championship announced
Manama : First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Bahrain Athletic Association President HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday announced that the first edition of the “Strongest Bahraini Man Championship 2018” will be organised next February and that he is the first contender to register in it.
The announcement came while HH Shaikh Khalid received at Al Wadi Palace yesterday members of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Bahrain Olympic Committee Board of Directors and local and international sports journalists.
Organised by His Highness’s Media Office and within Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Initiatives, the championship is aimed at support the Bahraini youth and sports movement.
On the occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid said, “We are delighted to announce the first edition of the strongest Bahraini man championship, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This will be the beginning of a new type of tournaments in the local sports arena. We are always keen to support and encourage such pioneering ideas that can be applied in our Bahraini society, especially as such championships encourage and motivate the youth to practice in sports activities.”
HH Shaikh Khalid said such sports are self-challenging and enables players to discover their talents and capabilities.
He explained that the championship will include four weight categories, adding that all sports enthusiasts are welcomed to join, especially that the remaining four months until the championship is held is a sufficient period to prepare for it.
