Total investment in Jassim Fakhro fund reached $1.15m, says KPMG

Manama : KPMG in Bahrain announced yesterday key progress in the firm’s flagship human development initiatives, Jassim Fakhro Fund and KPMG’s internship programme.

Since the inception of the fund in 2001, 97 Bahraini employees have completed their professional qualifications, with financial and mentoring support at a total cost of USD1.15 million (BD 435,000), covered entirely by KPMG in Bahrain.

KPMG’s Managing Partner Jamal Fakhro said: “I am delighted to see many Bahraini employees are utilizing the valuable opportunities we provide to accelerate their professional growth during their career with KPMG and beyond.”

The fund was developed to honour Jassim Fakhro, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, and to support the professional development of talented young Bahrainis. It provides local staff with access to financial support along with time and mentoring from more experience colleagues to help them pursue and complete any professional qualification of their choice.

So far this year, KPMG in Bahrain has also welcomed 46 Bahraini students from leading universities inside and outside of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
