Turning ideas into reality

ManamaThe third edition of the Manama Entrepreneurship Week will kick start on 28 October 2017 offering entrepreneurs a platform to translate their ideas into reality as well as small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.

This was revealed by Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Governor of the Capital Governorate while announcing the details of the forum at a press conference held at the Capital Club, Manama.

Official launch of the event will be held on 28 October 2017, 3pm, at Ritz Carlton - Al Ghazal Hall.

The forum, Shaikh Hisham said, will focus on the sustainable development goals that coincide with the 17 objectives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

“The number of participants in the first edition was 2000, while that reached 5000 in the second edition,” he said adding: “We look forward to having a larger number in the third edition.”

Fourteen workshops and seminars will be held throughout the week until 2 November 2017 as part of the event held in partnership with the Tamkeen Fund and Ahli United
Bank.

“We believe that this event will stimulate innovation and create broad horizons for young people in the entrepreneurship sector,” Shaikh Hisham told reporters during the press conference.

This year’s event, according to him, is expecting the participation of about 30 speakers from several countries including the United States of America, Australia, Russia and Bahrain.

Commenting on the event, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi, CEO of Tamkeen, said, “The strategic partnership with Manama Entrepreneurship Week comes within Tamkeen’s framework to develop the skills of Bahrainis and encourage them to become entrepreneurs.”

“I would like to emphasise that Tamkeen’s doors are always open to support through a wide range of grants, training services, financing, advisory and mentoring solutions,” Janahi added.
