PM urges business community to focus on industrial development

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged business community to focus on industrial development, calling for a radical change in national industries, modern and traditional, in order to promote commodities made in Bahrain locally and regionally.

HRH the Prime Minister was speaking as he received senior officials, members of the business community yesterday. He also exchanged good wishes with them on the New Hijri Year.

The audience wished HRH the Premier a happy return of the occasion and extended to him heartfelt congratulations on being granted the Shield of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) in recognition of his contribution to communities development and promoting global peace, tolerance and diversity. 

They stressed that the well-deserved honour reflects global appreciation of HRH the Premier’s achievements and role in fostering Bahrain’s standing as the land of peace, security, stability and co-existence.

HRH the Prime Minister voiced the government’s keenness on more contribution of the private sector to industrial development. He said all factors had been provided to upgrade the industrial sector and benefit from agricultural and livestock products in Bahrain. 

“We look forward to a production phase that crosses local borders to the regional and international ones,” the Prime Minister said.

HRH the Premier asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has made successive and fast-paced leaps in various areas which earned it international and institutional respect in various international gatherings. 

The Premier also pointed out his personal follow-up on the directives given to the ministers to optimise services, cater for citizens’ needs and achieve their aspirations. 

He emphasised that achieving citizens’ satisfaction is the government’s duty, pointing out that catering for their needs and solving their problems is top priority.

HRH the Prime Minister underlined the kingdom’s success to overcome all challenges and promote security and stability, calling for more efforts to boost the development march. 

The Premier reiterated keenness to follow up personally on the needs of cities and villages, pointing out his constant directives to the ministers to reach out to citizens’ needs through field visits. 

The Prime Minister stressed the government’s continuous development of the legislative structure to boost investments, pointing out the role of investment in promoting economic growth as well as providing training and job opportunities.

HRH the Premier called on businessmen to come forward with their proposals to diversify the national economy, stressing his personal follow-up on the implementation of plans to improve the business environment and invigorate the economic momentum.

HRH the Prime Minister paid tribute to the national competencies, urging to invest in them to further boost Bahrain’s good reputation in this respect.
