Woman describes brutal attack, Bahraini husband arrested
Manama : In a shocking incident, a woman was left emotionally and physically ruined after being viciously attacked, assaulted and threatened by her own husband.
The victim, a Syrian national, is now at Salmaniya Medical Complex, with severe bruises all over her body.
The husband, a Bahraini national, is being interrogated by the police.
The brutality came to public notice when the woman posted a video detailing her ordeal on the social media channels in the Kingdom.
In the video, posted online, the victim claims that her husband assaulted her frequently “for the simplest of the reasons”.
“He hid both my daughters, so they won’t see me, and also threatened to kill me.”
According to the claims made by the victim in the video, the husband also tried to escape, with the kids, after assaulting her.
The victim’s sister said, “Her head was banged against the wall several times before her husband smacked a piece of tile on her head and she lost consciousness.”
