Alba CEO visits supplier of Line 6 project

Manama : Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray paid an inspection visit to one of Bahrain’s major equipment contracting companies for Line 6 Expansion Project - Ahmed Mansoor Al Aali (AMA Group).

AMA Group is manufacturing 427 pot shells (each weighing 44 metric tonnes) for Alba’s Line 6 Expansion Project, the first of which will be delivered to the Alba site in October. In addition, AMA Group along with its partner Dubai’s Alucor Ltd. are fabricating 424 ring bus bars (each weighing 47 metric tonnes) the first of which will be delivered to the Alba site by mid October. These major smelter components are some of the largest ever manufactured in the aluminium smelting industry in the world.

Speaking about this visit, Murray said, “We are pleased that AMA Group, a Bahraini company, is one of our major contractors on the Line 6 Expansion Project. Both, the potshells and busbar rings are 100per cent fabricated in Bahrain, thus demonstrating the ability of Bahraini companies to back our landmark project. We are also happy with the stringent safety procedures adopted by AMA Group, which underline our core value – to uphold the highest standards of Safety in Alba Tomorrowland.”

Murray was accompanied by Alba’s acting COO Hassan Noor and Manager Line 6 Engineering Paul Otteson and escorted by AMA GM Haresh Patel and Alucor Director, Nimish Bhatia.
