Third Grand Raffle draw to be held today

Manama : The second raffled car out of 10 allotted in the Nasser 10 Football Tournament was won yesterday by Elias Al Hujairi. While receiving his prize, Al Hujairi praised the initiative of HH Shaikh Nasser Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), saying, “I would love to express my sincerest gratitude to Shaikh Nasser for appreciating spectators as a key pillar in Nasser 10’s success”.

He added: “I always impatiently await Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Games and attend all the matches to support my team in this tournament. I was very surprised when my ticket number was announced and will continue attending the event.”

The third car raffle draw will be held tonight during the quarter final matches at Khalifa Sports City Football Stadium with the cars all being provided by Ebrahim K Kanoo and Majestic Cars.

Action is underway tonight with two games as Suqoor Al Bahrain face Batelco Gunners United at 9pm, followed by the game between Nomas and Victorious at 11:15 pm. No extra time will be held if the initial 90 minutes end in a draw. Suqoor Al Bahrain were the leaders of Group 1 with 7 points, one point ahead of Victorious. Also, Nomas completed the group stage atop of Group 2 with six points, while Batelco Gunners United were second with same number of points, but inferior goal difference.

Both teams are expected to adopt a cautious approach in the first match. Suqoor Al Bahrain will count on their strong defence which was key for them to qualify to this stage. Key players Hussain Al Farhani and Abdullah Saeed will be heavily relied upon for Suqoor Al Bahrain. Meanwhile, Batelco Gunners United displayed a mixed bag of performances, thus it remains to be seen how they perform in this match. The team have a group of stars, including Brazilian Diego, former Bahraini international player Mahmoud Abdulrahman, Redha Hassan and Hassan Al Joban and it will be hard to predict the winners among Nomas and Victorious given the good performances  in the group stage.

Three players lead the scoring charts with five goals each, they are Hisham Jawad of Al Frsan Palace Hotel, Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa of Nomas and Mahdi Humaidan of Al Fakhar Team. The latter pair have a chance to increase their tally over Hisham Jawad, whose team Al Frsan Palace Hotel were knocked out in the group stage.
