Ramli Mall Farmers’ Market a huge hit

Manama : With nearly 2,000 shoppers visiting, the Farmers’ Market, which showcased some of the very best of Bahraini agricultural produce, in Ramli Mall turned out to be a huge hit in the Kingdom.  

Held in association with the Bahrain Farmers Market and the Directorate of Agriculture and Marine Resources, the stalls showcased fruits and vegetables such as cherry tomatoes, big harvest tomatoes, chillies, cucumber, berries, greens and herbs. Diary products including goat milk, cheese, laban as well as Bahraini eggs and mushrooms were also on the display.

Regional Director Juzer Rupawala thanked the Directorate of Agriculture and Marine Resources and  Amani Abu Idrees, Executive Manager of Bahrain Farmers’ Market for the support extended.

“We believe in encouraging the Bahraini SMEs and micro food industries,” said Rupawala, highlighting the role of Bahraini farmers in contributing to the Kingdom’s food security. 

Expressing his excitement at the great public interest gained, Rupawala said, “We see this as a way to support Bahraini farmers and the productive families who sold traditional food such as pickles, curry powder and dates.”

Cooked chickpeas, Omelettes, Arabic Khubz, home-made burgers and tea were some of the hot selling dishes at the venue. Fruit and vegetable carving stall was a crowd puller with the artists there providing tips to curious visitors.
