Minister highlights MDGS implementation

Minister of Social Development Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh said that the Kingdom of Bahrain attached great importance to achieving sustainable development and implementing the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The United Nations had announced MDGs in September 2000. Bahrain has documented its accomplishments in Bahrain Millennium Development Goals Report 2015 launched in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kingdom.

The report confirmed Bahrain has implemented all of its developmental goals, ensured sustainable development, recognized the five dimensions of development: economic, social, environmental, politico-institutional and cultural.This came in the Minister’s speech at the third meeting of the High-level Political Forum  on Sustainable Development in New York. 

The Minister led the Kingdom’s delegation participating in this meeting which continues until Wednesday, July 8.The delegation includes representatives from the Prime Minister’s Court, the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), Foreign Ministry (MOFA), the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) and the Central Informatics Organization (CIO).
