AGU forum to discuss Food, Water Security
Manama : Food and water security in the Gulf cooperation Council (GCC) will be focus of a discussion today at The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the College of Graduate Studies of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU).
The forum will discuss two basic pillars of human security; the water security and food security and the interlinkage between water, food and energy production.
Commenting, Dr Mohammed Sulaiman Abidu, Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment at the College of Graduate Studies of AGU, said that the debate will focus on a set of questions pertaining to international, regional and natural challenges that the GCC states are facing in the field of water and food security and inadequate knowledge on interlinkage of food, water and energy.
Open to the public, the forum will feature the participation of an elite group of faculty members who will elaborate on these important subjects.
