LMRA Conducts 21,000 Inspections

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out more than 21,000 inspection visits across establishments and commercial markets during the first half of 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen labour market regulation and maintain its stability and competitiveness.

The figures were presented during the LMRA Board of Directors’ regular meeting, which His Excellency Yousef bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, chaired via video conference.

Members of the Board of Directors and LMRA Chief Executive Officer Nibras Mohammed Taleb attended the meeting.

The Board reviewed updates on national and strategic plans aimed at developing the work environment and strengthening regulatory and supervisory measures. Discussions included the Government Programme and the National Labour Market Plan, along with efforts to update policies and procedures in response to economic developments and sector needs.

The authority also conducted 625 joint inspection campaigns in cooperation with relevant government entities during the first six months of the year.

On digital transformation, Taleb highlighted ongoing efforts to re-engineer procedures and integrate LMRA’s digital systems with government databases. He said digital awareness among users has continued to grow, with electronic services accounting for 85% of the total services provided by the authority during the first half of 2026.

The Board also reviewed efforts aimed at enhancing Bahrain’s economic competitiveness and investment appeal while ensuring the continued stability and development of the labour market.
