Zelenskyy Says Willing to Meet Putin at Miami G20

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the upcoming G20 summit in Miami, as per to an interview with German broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
Zelenskyy's comments come amid fresh US-backed diplomatic efforts to restart talks aimed at ending Russia's war in Ukraine. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner recently met with both Putin and Zelenskyy, but no substantial breakthroughs have been disclosed.
The G20 meeting in 2026 is slated for December 14-15 in Miami. Putin's attendance is still a politically contentious matter, with US officials earlier debating the prospect of inviting him.
Zelenskyy's desire to meet Putin may present another opportunity for direct talks, albeit key issues over territory, security assurances, and Ukraine's future remain unsolved.
