Ministry debunk missing rumour
Manama : The Interior Ministry yesterday dismissed the reports of a missing Bahraini teen doing the rounds on social media as false.
The rumours of Jassim Al Rowaey missing went viral yesterday morning, following which social media platforms were flooded with his pictures and videos.
However, when asked, Jassim’s brother Ali Mubarak Al Rowaey told DTNews that his brother went missing since Thursday afternoon.
The family also lodged a complaint at the East Riffa police station which started an enquiry into the incident.
Later in the evening, the ministry of interior clarified that it was a baseless rumour and the young boy from Riffa has not been abducted.
DT News tried calling Jassim’s brother for a follow-up but there was no response.
