Kirwa wins Nagoya marathon

Manama : Bahrain’s Eunice Kirwa in a time of two hours 21 minutes and 17 seconds won the Women’s Nagoya City Marathon for the third year in a row on Sunday.

Kirwa’s who was a silver medal winner at the Rio Olympics last year, achieved her best of the three victories with Japan’s Yuka Ando (2:21.36) and compatriot Kuwahara (2:23.47) coming in second and third places respectively.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of West Asian Athletics Federation, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, extended his warmest congratulations to the leadership on this victory and to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee on the support extended to the sport sector in the
kingdom and praising Kirwa given her outstanding results in previous international championships, most notably the 2016 Rio Olympics.
