Manama : HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation BMMAF and founder of Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts KHK MMA called for the allocation of a quarter of the proceeds, of the third edition of the championship, for the treatment of a child afflicted with a rare disease who lives in Curitiba, Brazil, which will host the competition scheduled on March 18.

This directive comes in line with his custom to put forward humanitarian initiatives through various activities and sporting events which aims to promote the concept of the sport being a primary pillar of support to strengthen humanitarian bonds, and as a vital field to establish the concept of social and charitable initiatives in different communities.

Shaikh Khalid said, “I was very moved by the health condition of the child Arthur Tetto Lader, in the city of Curitiba, Brazil, which will host the third edition of the BRAVE Championship.  The child, who is only a year old, suffers from the incurable disease of spinal muscular atrophy, one of the rare diseases of our time. The cost of treatment for just a year is too expensive for the child’s family, which has yet been unable to provide the required amount. This pushed us to allocate a portion of the proceeds of this tournament for the benefit of this child, for whom we wish a speedy recovery.”

Mohammed Shahid, CEO of KHK MMA said, “Implementing the directives of Shaikh Khalid a quarter of the proceeds of the third edition of BRAVE, for the treatment of the
child.”
