Probe initiated into fake documents case

ManamaThe prosecution has opened an investigation into the case of two companies accused of filing fake documents, DT News has learnt.

The authorities closed-down the companies on Sunday following complaints filed by the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry.

The complaint was filed against a person who presented the documents to the ministry, confirmed Capital Governorate Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Al Maliki.

Al Maliki said that the audit company director’s signature and stamp on the documents presented by the suspect were counterfeited.

“When the ministry cross-checked the documents and the electronic history of the companies, it was discovered that they were all submitted by one person, the suspect. The prosecution has initiated its investigations to determine the whereabouts of the case,” Al Maliki added.

Earlier, the Ministry had wrote off the company’s commercial registration for submitting fake  documents and closed-down both companies.

The ministry had clarified, both companies submitted fake documents through Commercial Registration Portal “Sijilat” in order to raise the irregularities and renew their CR.
