Jewellery Arabia customs office set up at Bahrain Airport

Manama : The authorities have set up an office at the Bahrain International Airport to streamline measures for the participants in the 25th

Middle East International Jewellery and Watch Exhibition.

The five-day Jewellery Arabia 2016 opened on Tuesday under the patronage of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).

The facility, which operates round the clock aims to facilitate the delivery of participants’ consignments and contribute to the success of the Jewellery Arabia 2016, said Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al
Khalifa.

Twenty-six customs officers work on shift basis at the venue of Jewellery Arabia 2016 to screen items and clear them to be showcased at the
exhibition.

“The officers processed 567 parcels belonging to 281 exhibitors taking part in the event,” Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that procedures have gone hi-tech after getting rid of paper
work.
