Success of Arabian Gulf Security 1 drill praised

Manama : Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday hailed the success of the Arabian Gulf Security 1 exercise.

The Interior Minister also appreciated the attendance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the final ceremony of the exercise, adding that it was a motive to continue with the GCC level security cooperation.

Shaikh Rashid, who is the Commander of the exercise, was speaking while receiving the members of the Drill Supreme Committee yesterday. The committee members will draft the exercise’s final report, which will be considered for the preparations of the next exercise that will be held in one of the Gulf countries after two years. Shaikh Rashid will present the report during the upcoming meeting of GCC Interior Ministers in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the Minister lauded the accomplishment of the event. He highlighted that it represented the vision of the GCC leaders, whose support and backing made the event successful.

The follow-up of various phases of the exercise by GCC Interior Ministers reflected the importance of the event, the minister said, adding that the success of the exercise showed the capability of security forces to work together in joint
tasks.

Members of the Drill Supreme Committee of the exercise thanked the Interior Minister for his directives and follow-up throughout its phases.

Chief of Public Security and Head of Control Authority of the exercise, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan also attended the meeting.
