Man jailed for drinking during Holy Ramadan
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a man to one month in jail for consuming alcohol during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Bystanders reported the incident to the police after the defendant was seen in an inebriated state. He was nabbed while he was holding an alcohol bottle.
“I was in a coffee shop in Riffa. One of my friends gave me the bottle and I drank some of it. Then I lost my sense. I woke up at the police station,” the defendant said.
The defendant has been charged with drinking alcohol publicly in the Holy Month of Ramadan.
