Bahrain will counter any internal challenges : PM
Manama : The statements made by a few people and countries about the events in the region is disappointing, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. “Those attitudes are biased, and reflect ignorance of the size of the terrorist threat that is putting the region’s security and stability at risk,” the Premier commented.
Prince Khalifa said the Bahraini citizens had learnt from the Kingdom’s experiences, and become capable of countering any attempts to subvert the security of the homeland.
“We will not allow an internal challenge to be created for us,” he said, adding that “regulatory procedures are necessary, as no country in the world can bear the consequences of instability on its economic and development process. They are facing enough external threats.” HRH Premier was speaking during his meeting with the Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, members of the Council of Representatives and Shura members, in the presence of senior State officials at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
Stressing the government’s keenness on implementing the Royal directives, the Premier remarked that the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa were always aimed at achieving the best for the citizens.
According to him, the need for collective and complementary work between the Executive and Legislative branches is growing amid the critical situation the world is currently going through. “This requires assuming patriotic responsibilities to meet the big challenges. So there is no room for leniency with whoever tries to impede the national march,” HRH the Prime Minister warned.
Lauding the awareness of the Bahraini youth, Prince Khalifa pointed out that the government had provided all the requirements that stimulate youth to be creative and acquire knowledge. Meanwhile, the Shura Council Chairman thanked HRH Premier for his constant directives to deepen Executive-Legislature cooperation. “HRH Premier laid solid foundations for cooperation between the two branches, which has entitled such collaboration to be a distinctive feature of the Bahraini parliamentary experience,” Al Saleh added.
