New Marine Fuel Station Underway
Fishermen at Bandar Al Dar, south of Sitra, will soon have access to fuel directly at the harbour as installation work begins on a new marine fuel station.
The station is one of four planned at strategic locations around Bahrain’s coast to make refuelling easier for fishermen and support the fishing sector.
The project follows discussions between the fishermen’s society and relevant authorities on the challenges facing fishermen and ways to improve fuel access.
Under the agreement, stations are planned at Bandar Al Dar, Ras Rayya in Muharraq, Al Zallaq and Budaiya port.
Once operational, the Bandar Al Dar facility is expected to make refuelling more convenient for boats and provide a safer and more suitable service within the harbour.
Four planned marine fuel stations:
- Bandar Al Dar, Sitra
- Ras Rayya, Muharraq
- Al Zallaq
- Budaiya Port
