Representatives from the Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) and the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) held a coordinating meeting to review the needs of the association and what the committee can offer to develop the game in the kingdom.

BTTA vice-president Ali Al Madeh headed his side at the meeting, which was also attended by BOC sports associations section head Hamad Al Baker, media section head Hasan Ali, sports association specialist Aqeel Ali, training and development specialist Ahmed Hafed and physiotherapy specialist Rami Al Murbati.

Al Baker commended the role of the association in boosting table tennis in Bahrain and noted that the main purpose of the meeting was to brief the association on the committee’s main services provided to support national sports associations.

Late on, Al Murbati spoke about the services provided by the National Sports Medicine Centre and the available equipment for athletes recovering after sports injuries.

Hasan Ali then gave an overview on the services of the Media, Public Relations and Marketing Directorate, such as providing TV sports coverage of domestic events and attempting to issue passes for sports media to facilitate their duties in covering sports competitions.

The meeting concluded with Al Baker briefing the attendees on the timetable of the overseas participations of the BTTA and had discussions with the association officials on issues related to budgets and incoming and outgoing letters, promising to look into all association needs in accordance to the available capacities.
