Video of outdoor barber goes viral

Manama : A recent footage of an outdoor barber in Bahrain has gone viral on regional social media in the past few days.

The video, as claimed by the person behind the camera, is filmed in one of the villages in the country.  

It showed a group of labourers in what seems to be a work site. Two of them were seated on shabby chairs under the shade of trees while receiving haircuts from two others in the open air.

The man shooting the video focused on the unhygienic conditions of the tools used by the barbers. He even said a “painting brush is used as a shaving brush here.”

The 15-second-long clip drew plenty of controversy among social media users in Bahrain and neighbouring GCC countries.  

With thousands of likes and shares on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the outdoor barber has become popular among social media users, with some sharing their intention to visit it.

One part of the video showed the barber using a metal barrel as a table with tools such as talcum powder, shaving cream, spray bottles, razors and a painting brush.

As reported earlier, the Health Ministry is closely monitoring barbershops and salons in the country. Inspection visits are regularly paid to the different shops in the Kingdom. Posters showing the hygienic methods to be followed while shaving are also displayed in every barbershop in the Kingdom.

However, until the time that this report was written, no official comments were available about the outdoor barbershop and someone could be having a haircut in the open air at this very moment.
