BIC, EDB renew partnership deal

Manama:  Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) have renewed their long-term partnership agreement, it was announced yesterday.

The new three-year deal was signed by BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa and EDB Chief Executive Khalid Al Rumaihi in the presence of officials from both companies.

Commenting on the deal, Shaikh Salman said, “With our new three-year deal in place with EDB, we look forward to further growing our partnership from strength to strength and together contributing to the overall development of Bahrain.”

Al Rumaihi commented: “The events held at the BIC, including the 2016 F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, are some of the major contributors to the Kingdom’s tourism sector and its related subsectors.”

“Tourism is one of the EDB’s target sectors - and is a sector in which we see great potential for future growth. Through events like the F1 Race, Bahrain can showcase its unique value proposition to investors and tourists, introducing them to the Kingdom’s key advantages, including our open and welcoming environment.”
