Energy Minister on inspection visit

Manama: Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday paid a surprise visit to the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Customer Services Centre in Isa Town to take a look at operations.

Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Mohammed Fakhro and Customer Services Director Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa accompanied the minister.

The Minister was briefed on the working of the centre and how the grievances of the citizens and the residents are taken care of.

He also saw how the customer service agents respond to customer queries and complaints.

The minister praised the centre officials’ work and said he would look into a demand to have more staff in place to cater to the increased working hours (from 9 am to 7 pm) and a larger than usual turnout of people.

The Minister also met and spoke with a number of customers and listened to their opinions and suggestions as well as their assessment of the level of services provided
by the EWA.

The minister said the visit comes as part of his desire to follow the progress of the EWA’s various departments and to check the services provided.

He also praised the guidance of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who always emphasized on officials to interact with customers.
