Education Minister visits sports festival ‘Bahrain Deserves’

Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of sport activities to promote tolerance, cohesion and team work among children.

This came as he visited the sports festival ‘Bahrain Deserves,’ organised by the Directorate of Physical Education and Scouts.

Over 3,000 students from various public and private schools participated in the festival, in the presence of a number of ministry officials.

The Minister pointed out that they were keen on expanding sports activities with the launch of improved citizenship and human rights school project in the current academic year.

Al Nuaimi toured the festival venue and praised the value of the programmes, which have already received positive response from the students.

Later, the Minister joined
the students in a three- kilometre walkathon.

The festival included a number programmes that helped establishing values of citizenship and human rights to the participating students.

It also had national competitions spread throughout the six pillars, which are City of Peace, Bahrain Brings Us Together, Tolerance and Loyalty, Our Games Bring Us Together, Continents Meeting and the Games of Tolerance.
