Al Zayani inaugurates Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum

Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani inaugurated the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum yesterday at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.

The forum, held for the first time in Bahrain within the Arabian Gulf and Middle East countries, is organised by the Origin Group in cooperation with the UNIDO, British Council and the University of Applied Sciences.

The event aims to overcome the current challenges in the region that affect all segments of the society by introducing youth to entrepreneurship concept, types and skills.

On this occasion, the Minister said, “This forum goes in line with the strategy of the Ministry to develop small businesses and entrepreneurship and to create more of their contribution in the Bahrain economy.”

He confirmed the Ministry’s continuous support to the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startup entrepreneurship.

The Minister said that youth is not restricted by age. “There is no age limit to start a business,” he stated.

He encouraged the SMEs to change the mind of youth from job seekers to job providers.

At the same time, he encouraged leaders, society and youth to take risks and establish their own business to become job providers, so they could contribute more to the economy.

The Minister also stressed on the importance of learning from mistakes.

“Failure should be used to strengthen messages and results to stand up again, to develop talent and to be stronger for the next opportunity and challenge,” he advised.
