‘Bright future awaits MMA

Mohammed Shahid CEO of Khalid Hamad Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) team has said Bahrain is witnessing a remarkable evolution because of the support from HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports founder of KHK MMA to the sport of MMA, following good results in recent international participation.

Shahid said, “Shaikh Khalid is making Bahrain one of the top developing countries in MMA which brought seven international achievements in the past year. I believe that these positive results will not stop and this will push Bahraini youth to further success in future events and championships.”

The International Pro Fighter Khabib “The Bear’ Nurmagomedov from KHK MMA Pro team was pleased with what he saw from solid performances in the first MMA championship of the 2016 season adding that this championship attract 30 fighters from five countries in the ‘Yalla Riyadha’ Lets Play Sport organised by the Youth and Sports Ministry at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, pointing out a positive indicator of the spread of MMA interest among youth in various countries of the world.

He said, “Shaikh Khalid had elevated the sport in Bahrain and spared no effort in order to provide the appropriate conditions for the fighters both amateur and professional in the KHK MMA team to develop their abilities and their potential combat for participation in international tournaments.”
