Two-week programme focuses on citizenship, leadership and youth development

The Royal Police Academy today launched the 16th edition of its Summer Camp, held from August 16 to 29 as part of the national plan to strengthen national belonging and promote citizenship values, “Bahrainona”.

The camp is designed for children and young people, with programmes aimed at promoting citizenship, loyalty, belonging and tolerance, while fostering teamwork and developing participants’ abilities and talents in cultural and sports activities.

The programme also seeks to help participants make positive use of their free time, develop leadership and life skills, strengthen self-reliance and teamwork, and prepare them to face future challenges. It also contributes to raising awareness of social responsibility and protecting young people from crime and negative behaviours.

The opening activities included a flag-raising ceremony during the morning assembly, highlighting discipline, self-reliance and team spirit.

Participants also visited the Bahrain National Museum, where they learned about the Kingdom’s history and cultural heritage, as well as the Police K9 Unit to learn about its role and duties in police work.

The programme also included a visit to the Municipal Museum and a series of workshops focused on developing participants’ creative and life skills, discovering and nurturing their talents, and strengthening self-confidence, communication and critical thinking skills.

The summer camp will continue with a range of national, awareness, cultural, sports and recreational activities designed to make effective use of the summer holiday while supporting the development of young people’s personalities, skills and capabilities.
