Bahrain Presents Third SDG Progress Review at UN Forum
Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, presented Bahrain's Third Voluntary National Review (VNR) during the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Addressing representatives from member states and international organisations, she outlined the Kingdom's continued progress in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting Bahrain's commitment to enhancing quality of life, promoting inclusive economic growth, preserving its cultural heritage and natural resources, and strengthening resilience for future generations. She noted that since submitting its second Voluntary National Review in 2023, Bahrain has adopted a structured and institutional approach to monitoring progress through the continuous review of national indicators, strengthening national capacities for SDG measurement, addressing data gaps, and expanding partnerships with key stakeholders.
Alkhulaif also showcased a range of national achievements and initiatives centred on four strategic pillars: empowering human capital, preserving heritage, culture and national identity, securing the future through sustainable policies, and reinforcing economic sustainability, reaffirming Bahrain's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
