Interior Minister Receives Former IISS Executive Chairman

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Sir John Chipman, former Executive Chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), to discuss regional developments and avenues for enhanced cooperation.
Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Police, attended the meeting.
The Interior Minister underscored the importance of such meetings in strengthening communication and exchanging perspectives on issues of mutual interest.
General Shaikh Rashid praised the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in addressing the Iranian aggression, managing its repercussions, and overseeing the emergency measures that followed. He said the King's leadership continues to prioritise Bahrain’s identity, progress and prosperity while reinforcing the principles of institutional governance and the rule of law.
The Minister also highlighted the close follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to initiatives, procedures and projects that support the Kingdom’s national development.
He commended the role of research institutions in providing strategic studies and scientific analysis that contribute to informed decision-making and help address emerging regional and global challenges.
General Shaikh Rashid also praised the International Institute for Strategic Studies for its contribution to promoting global peace and fostering strategic dialogue through international forums, particularly the annual Manama Dialogue, which serves as a key platform for discussions on regional security and stability.
The meeting concluded with discussions on strengthening cooperation, expanding the exchange of expertise, and reviewing the latest regional and international developments.
