Bahrain’s Public Prosecution, Ministry of Social Development, and Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies convened a roundtable to address the challenges of implementing visitation and custody judgments, bringing together senior judicial, executive, and social affairs officials.
Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fudhel Al Buainain said enforcing such judgments extends beyond issuing court rulings, stressing that the child’s psychological and social well-being must remain central. Minister of Social Development Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi described implementation as a social and humanitarian duty, not merely a legal procedure.
Presentations outlined the legal framework governing custody, visitation, care, and guardianship, alongside practical challenges facing social workers and enforcement bodies. The roundtable concluded with recommendations to review custody legislation, address parental alienation, adopt a unified procedural guide, improve child handover procedures, and enhance specialist training—all within a defined timeframe.
