Bahrain, UNDP Explore Enhanced Cooperation on Climate and Sustainable Development

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Asmaa Shalabi, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Amna Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).
During the meeting, Dr. Bin Dainah reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United Nations and its specialised agencies in advancing environmental sustainability and promoting the efficient use of natural resources. He praised the role of the UNDP in supporting the Kingdom’s development priorities and environmental initiatives.
The discussions focused on ways to expand collaboration in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development, supporting Bahrain’s efforts to achieve diversified and inclusive economic growth while meeting its long-term development goals.
For her part, Asmaa Shalabi commended Bahrain’s achievements and initiatives in climate action and environmental conservation. She also underscored the UNDP’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Kingdom and supporting shared objectives aimed at sustainable progress and environmental stewardship.
