LMRA upgrades domestic worker permit service after employer’s death
The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has improved its service for correcting the work permit status of domestic workers whose employers have died, as part of efforts to enhance government services.
The upgraded digital service allows workers to either obtain a new work permit under a different employer or cancel the existing permit to leave Bahrain.
Processing time has been reduced from 10 working days to one day, while required documents have been cut by 50% and approvals reduced by 25%, improving speed and efficiency.
LMRA said the move reflects its commitment to digital transformation and simplifying procedures for users.
The enhancement is part of wider government efforts that have seen over 1,300 services documented and hundreds re-engineered based on public feedback.
