The Ministry of Health has introduced an upgraded digital service for issuing Safe Disposal Certificates for damaged, expired, or rejected food products, as part of efforts to enhance service quality and streamline government procedures.

The service ensures that unfit food items are disposed of safely under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, helping to protect public health and prevent the circulation of unsafe products in the market. It also strengthens documentation of disposal processes in line with approved health regulations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

As part of the improvements, the service's processing time has been reduced from 10 working days to just three days. The updated system removes the need for physical document submissions, reduces the number of required approvals, and replaces paper forms with fully electronic applications.

The ministry has also upgraded its digital platforms by improving system performance, enhancing the user interface and user experience, and unifying service information across channels to make access easier and more efficient for beneficiaries.

Dr. Lulwa Rashid Showaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, said the development reflects the ministry’s commitment to innovative digital solutions that enhance government service efficiency, simplify procedures, and support the business environment.

She added that the initiative is part of broader efforts to advance digital transformation while improving transparency, reliability, and overall service quality for institutions.
