Ministry of Works has upgraded its Consultancy Service for Government Entities into a fully digital platform, a move aimed at improving service quality and accelerating public sector procedures.

The enhanced system provides construction-related advisory services to government and semi-government bodies, as well as civil society organisations, and has reduced processing times from 14 working days to seven.

The service covers a wide range of functions, including preliminary and detailed engineering designs, project supervision, coordination of cost estimates, preparation of tender documents, and assessment of the structural condition of government buildings. It also includes rehabilitation and renovation works.

Engineer Huda Mirza Al Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Works, said the upgrade reflects the ministry’s adoption of digital solutions to support the government’s electronic transformation agenda.

She said paper-based applications have been converted into electronic forms, simplifying procedures, reducing administrative steps, and improving efficiency, transparency, and user experience.

Al Salman added that the development is part of a broader plan to enhance the ministry’s digital services and strengthen Bahrain’s e-government ecosystem, with benefits expected for citizens, investors, and public sector entities.
