Preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year are progressing according to plan, with the Ministry of Education finalising key educational, organisational and logistical arrangements ahead of the start of the new school year.
This was highlighted during a meeting chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, with the committee overseeing preparations for the upcoming academic year.
The committee reviewed the results of the 2025–2026 academic year and approved the final reports on secondary school student performance. The reports showed a pass rate of approximately 96%, reflecting the continued progress of Bahrain’s education system and the efforts of students, teachers and school administrators.
Members also approved the academic calendar for the 2026–2027 academic year, which outlines major academic milestones, examination periods and key educational events. The calendar has been made available through the Ministry of Education’s official website.
Dr. Juma noted that preparations for the new school year began well in advance, with various educational and support sectors working closely to ensure all requirements are in place before students return to classrooms. He stressed the ministry’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment and maintaining high educational standards across schools.
The minister expressed gratitude for the continued support provided to the education sector by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said this support has played a significant role in advancing educational development and achieving quality outcomes across the sector.
During the meeting, the committee also reviewed the ministry’s key achievements over the past academic year, including the progress made through various projects, initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing educational quality and student outcomes.
Discussions further focused on readiness plans for the upcoming school year, with responsibilities assigned to specialised teams across different sectors to ensure the timely implementation of all preparations.
The meeting forms part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure a smooth start to the academic year and to build on the successes achieved during the previous school term.
