Shura Chief Hails Bahrain Success

Shura Council chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh hailed the kingdom’s performance at the fourth Gulf Games in Doha after Bahrain won 63 medals, describing the achievement as evidence of the country’s advanced sporting standing and sustained royal support for the sector.

Bahrain finished the regional competition with 25 gold, 22 silver and 16 bronze medals, marking what officials described as the kingdom’s best-ever gold medal tally in the history of its participation in the Gulf Games.

Al Saleh extended congratulations to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, saying the result reflected continued royal patronage and strong backing for Bahrain’s sports and youth movement.

He said the achievement demonstrated the progress and development of Bahraini sport at Gulf, continental and international levels, attributing the success to long-term support and efforts to strengthen sporting excellence.

Al Saleh also praised Bahraini athletes for their performances across various disciplines, commending their determination and competitive spirit in representing the kingdom during the regional tournament.

The Shura Council chairman congratulated Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, saying Bahrain’s medal haul was also supported by the government’s continued encouragement of the sports sector and commitment to sustaining achievements.

He said Bahraini competitors had shown dedication, discipline and strong national spirit, reflecting the determination that characterises Bahrain’s teams in regional and international events.

Al Saleh further congratulated Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of the king for humanitarian work and youth affairs and chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, as well as Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first deputy chairman of the council, head of the General Sports Authority and president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

He praised their efforts in supporting Bahraini sport, developing strategies for athletic progress and creating an environment that encourages excellence and continued success on the regional stage.
