Deputy PM Chairs Infrastructure Meeting
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the 303rd meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects in Manama.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed progress on plans aimed at preserving Bahrain’s historical and cultural identity, following the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the instructions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The committee praised ongoing coordination between the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and the Capital Secretariat regarding the redevelopment project of the historic Manama Souq area.
Officials discussed updates related to preserving the heritage and architectural identity of Bahrain’s historic districts and markets while ensuring development projects are implemented according to best practices.
The committee also reviewed a presentation by the Survey and Land Registration Bureau on efforts to document and survey historic areas and traditional markets across the Kingdom.
In addition, members commended the Real Estate Regulatory Authority for organising a seminar in cooperation with the Bahrain Real Estate Development Association to brief developers on the latest real estate laws and regulatory updates aimed at supporting the sector’s growth and competitiveness.
The meeting further highlighted the inspection visit conducted by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture to review progress on the King Hamad Highway afforestation project.
The committee also praised agreements signed to allocate 12 agricultural plots in the Buri area to Bahraini farmers, alongside private sector contributions supporting Bahrain’s national afforestation campaign.
Officials stressed the importance of continued coordination between government entities to advance infrastructure, sustainability, urban development, and heritage preservation projects across the Kingdom
