Ministry of Industry and Commerce honoured the fourth cohort of its “Consumer Protection Ambassadors” initiative, a youth programme aimed at promoting responsible consumption and strengthening fair trade practices across society.
The ceremony, organised by the ministry’s Consumer Protection Directorate in coordination with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, reflects ongoing efforts to empower young Bahrainis and enhance their role in spreading consumer awareness.
Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro said the participating youth demonstrated “commendable national models” through their engagement in the initiative, highlighting their awareness of consumer rights as a shared social responsibility.
He added that the skills and knowledge participants gained would help strengthen their role as active partners in promoting conscious consumption and building a more sustainable and informed society.
Minister Fakhro also praised private sector partners supporting the programme, saying their involvement reflects a commitment to youth empowerment and to enhancing the competitiveness and efficiency of Bahrain’s market.
Minister of Youth Affairs Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi described the initiative as a leading national model for youth empowerment and engagement in issues with direct societal impact.
She said the programme helps develop young people’s understanding of social responsibility and conscious consumption, while also building communication and influence skills.
