Bahrain Hajj Mission Begins Distributing Nusuk Cards to Pilgrims Ahead of Departure

The Bahrain Hajj Mission has commenced the distribution of Nusuk cards to pilgrims in coordination with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, as part of efforts to streamline travel procedures ahead of the Hajj season.

The cards are being issued through licensed tour operators within Bahrain prior to departure, allowing pilgrims to complete essential requirements before arriving at the holy sites in Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to enhance readiness and reduce processing time upon arrival.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Al Qattan, Deputy Head of the Bahrain Hajj Mission, said the Nusuk card serves as the primary identification for pilgrims throughout the Hajj season. It is mandatory for entry into the holy sites and the Grand Mosque, and also provides access to authorised services. Pilgrims have been advised to carry the card at all times, keep it secure, and use its digital version when needed.

The distribution process began today and will continue until May 7, covering all 23 licensed tour operators and benefiting a total of 4,625 Bahraini pilgrims.

Officials noted that issuing Nusuk cards prior to departure is being implemented for the second consecutive year, following its success in improving organisation and easing procedures for pilgrims upon arrival.

Dr. Al Qattan added that the first teams from the Hajj mission are scheduled to depart Bahrain next Thursday to the holy sites, with additional groups to follow in preparation for receiving pilgrims and delivering services. He confirmed that all mission teams are fully prepared to support Bahraini pilgrims and ensure a smooth and comfortable Hajj experience.
