Expat dies of chicken pox

The body of an expat who died of complications due to chickenpox, has been repatriated to his hometown in India today. Vidyarajan Methil Thodiyil, aged 52, who was working as a driver, died of infections following chickenpox, on Tuesday morning at the Salmaniya Medical Complex(SMC).

 He hailed from the Kozhikode district of the Indian state of Kerala. Mr Vidyarajan has been in Bahrain for the past 22 years in West Riffa.

He was admitted to the hospital with serious complications due to chickenpox. He is survived by his wife Anitha and children Rishikesh and Vishnu.

His relative in Bahrain Roopesh has accompanied the body to India via Air India Express and the cremation will take place on Friday at his residence in Kokkivalavu near Farook College, Kozhikode.
