National campaign steps up efforts to curb mosquito spread
Following directives from the Council of Ministers to take urgent action against the spread of mosquitoes, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Health have intensified joint field operations across the Kingdom.
In a statement, the ministries said coordinated efforts are being carried out in all governorates, focusing on removing stagnant water, expanding pest control campaigns, and increasing inspections to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
Municipal teams in the Capital, Muharraq, Northern, and Southern governorates have rolled out targeted operational plans in open areas where water tends to accumulate. These include clearing waste that can trap water, cleaning surrounding المناطق, and removing vegetation that supports mosquito growth.
Authorities are also conducting regular field inspections to monitor drainage systems and water removal activities, aiming to strengthen coordination and improve efficiency on the ground.
Residents have been urged to follow proper waste disposal practices and report stagnant water locations through a dedicated hotline, with officials stressing the importance of community participation in maintaining public health and safety.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that preventive measures remain ongoing in coordination with municipal authorities, including field surveillance and focused interventions in mosquito hotspots, especially during periods of higher humidity and rainfall that accelerate breeding activity.
