Bahrain looks promising, says new Domain Hotel GM

Bahrain is a tough market for hospitality industry as there is good competition, according to Frank Normann Eikeland, the new General Manager of the Domain Hotel.

He stated that one of his immediate priorities is to connect with the city and tell the locals about the facilities the hotel can provide.
Instead of focusing only on weekend crowd, he wants to attract more customers inside Bahrain to the hotel.

The GM, who arrived in Bahrain after multiple stints in renowned hotels, said in a lighter vein, “This is a very competitive marketplace; I don’t want to reveal my secrets.”

“Domain, as a lifestyle hotel, is a unique feature in this marketplace. We have only 131 rooms. We provide a comprehensive offer including signature-restaurants, state-of –the-art spa, and specialised restaurants catering to various tastes. For example, the Japanese restaurant is frequented by the Japanese and connoisseur of Japanese tastes in Bahrain,” he said.

He said his countrymen in Norway doesn’t have much idea about Bahrain’s nightlife, cultural programmes, beaches etc. “They know Dubai is good, but Bahrain remains a secret,” he said.

He added that outside this region, Bahrain can market itself better.

He said as earlier, participation in international exhibitions and trade shows will be done to attract foreign customers. Also, more efforts will be put in to develop the corporate clientele of the hotel.
