More than 900 complaints from residents across Capital districts 8 and 9 have exposed growing pressure on roads, pavements and basic municipal services, according to a detailed presentation delivered during the Capital Municipal Council session.

Covering the period from January 2024 to March 2026, the report was part of a comprehensive review of municipal and service requirements, detailing daily challenges faced by residents across both districts.

District 8 recorded 625 requests, nearly double the 339 logged in District 9, pointing to heavier service pressure despite having fewer areas. The figures suggest a higher concentration of infrastructure-related issues, particularly in residential zones.

Across both districts, road and pavement maintenance accounted for the majority of complaints submitted to the Ministry of Works, confirming a consistent pattern of demand centred on deteriorating surfaces, uneven walkways and water accumulation.

In response, authorities processed hundreds of requests, achieving completion rates over seventy per cent in both districts. District 9 recorded a slightly higher rate despite covering a broader geographical area.
