Formula 1 Confirms Bahrain GP Will Not Take Place in April
The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 will not take place in April after Formula One and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) announced the decision following a careful assessment of the ongoing situation in the Middle East region.
In an official statement, organisers confirmed that the race scheduled at Bahrain International Circuit has been cancelled due to regional developments.
The circuit said it fully supports the decision taken by Formula 1 and the FIA, expressing appreciation for their continued cooperation and long-standing partnership.
Despite the cancellation, organisers said they remain hopeful about welcoming fans back to Bahrain when Formula 1 returns in the future.
Ticket Holder Options
Officials also confirmed that all ticket holders who purchased tickets directly from Bahrain International Circuit will receive an email outlining the available options.
These include:
-
A full refund, which will be processed as soon as possible.
-
A credit note, which can be redeemed for a future Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Ticket holders are advised to follow the instructions provided in the email to select the option that best suits them.
Organisers thanked fans for their understanding and encouraged anyone with enquiries to contact the circuit’s customer service team.
