The Ministry of Interior has announced exceptional measures regarding visit visas in light of the current circumstances and the Iranian aggression targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has resulted in the cancellation or suspension of several flights.
His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), stated that all holders of visit visas currently inside Bahrain whose permitted stay expired starting from February 28, 2026, will be exempt from fines related to overstaying.
He explained that the exemption will remain in effect for an additional month after the reopening of Bahrain’s airspace, allowing visitors sufficient time to arrange their departure.
Additionally, visit visas that were still valid as of February 28, 2026, will be extended for three more months for visitors who are currently outside Bahrain. This applies to individuals who had applied for their visas before that date but were unable to travel due to the exceptional circumstances.
Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating travel procedures and taking into account the exceptional conditions affecting travellers.
The authority urged the public to follow official communication channels for updates. For inquiries, travellers can contact the call center at 17077077, use the WhatsApp service and virtual assistant through NPRA’s electronic channels, or email info@npra.gov.bh
