Bahrain, UK leaders speak by phone as tensions rise after Iranian strikes

Manama: His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received a telephone call on Sunday from Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, during which they discussed the latest regional developments and the security situation following Iranian missile attacks on Bahraini territory.
During the call, the British prime minister expressed his country’s solidarity with Bahrain and strongly condemned the targeting of the kingdom by missile attacks launched by Iran. He reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s support for Bahrain and for the measures it is taking to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.
King Hamad conveyed his deep appreciation to the British prime minister for the message of solidarity and for the United Kingdom’s supportive stance toward Bahrain at a time of heightened regional tensions.
